Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra has expressed her gratitude to the leaders of India, Indonesia, the Maldives, and the U.S. Secretary of State for their congratulatory messages following her appointment as the country’s 31st Prime Minister. In her responses on Twitter (X), the premier reaffirmed Thailand’s commitment to strengthening bilateral ties and exploring new opportunities for cooperation with each nation.

Paetongtarn acknowledged the messages from Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Indonesian President Joko Widodo, both of whom expressed confidence in deepening relations with Thailand. She noted the potential for enhanced trade, investment, culture, and tourism links with India while reiterating the importance of cooperation within ASEAN with Indonesia, particularly as the two nations approach the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations in 2025.

Paetongtarn also responded to a message from Maldivian President Mohamed Muizzu, highlighting the strong relationship between Thailand and the Maldives and expressing her hope to elevate cooperation across all sectors. She reaffirmed Thailand’s dedication to maintaining close ties with the Maldives as both countries seek future collaboration.

U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken also conveyed his congratulations, expressing a desire to strengthen the U.S.-Thailand alliance. Paetongtarn responded with her commitment to further enhancing the long-standing partnership between the two nations, focusing on advancing cooperation to benefit both countries and their citizens.
