Thailand Secures Second Bronze Medal in Womens Doubles Table Tennis at Paris Paralympics

On August 30th, 2024, Dararat Asayut and Chilchitparyak Bootwansirina won a bronze medal in the women’s doubles table tennis event at the 17th Paralympic Games in Paris.

In the WD5 class semifinals, they faced China’s Xu Juan and Liu Jing. Despite a strong effort, Dararat and Chilchitparyak lost 1-3 in games (11-9, 11-13, 10-12, 7-11) but secured the bronze, marking Thailand’s second bronze medal of the Games after Khwansuda Phuangkitcha’s in women’s taekwondo.

In other Thai Paralympic results:

Badminton: Mongkhon Bunsun won his second group match in the men’s singles SL3 class, defeating India’s Sarkar Manoj 21-19, 21-8.

Swimming: Aekkarin Noithat finished sixth in the men’s 200m individual medley SM6 class with a time of 3:07.93, missing the finals.

Boccia: In men’s BC4 class, Pornchok Larpyen came from behind to beat Germany’s Nikolai Boris 5-4. He will face Colombia next on August 31.

Boccia: Worawut Saengampa won 5-3 against El Salvador’s Salles Mario in the men’s BC2 class.

Athletics: Suneeporn Tanomwong, with guide runner Chaiwat Thongjamroon, finished second in the women’s 400m T11 class heats, advancing to the semifinals with a time of 1:02.95.
