Chiang Mai Airport Remains Operational Despite City Flooding

On October 4th, 2024, Chiang Mai Airport confirmed it remains unaffected by the flooding from the Ping River and continues normal operations. Passengers are advised to allow extra time for travel.

At 11:00 AM, Chiang Mai Airport issued an update on the situation, reporting that the Ping River level at Nawarat Bridge had reached 4.88 meters, surpassing the 3.70-meter crisis point, as indicated by the Irrigation Department’s warning system.

Despite widespread flooding in central Chiang Mai, particularly near the riverbanks, the airport remains fully operational.

Passengers are encouraged to arrive at least two hours before domestic flights and three hours for international flights to ensure smooth travel.
