3. The Phuket Vegetarian festival has officially begun after the Go Teng Pole was raised.

4. The first day of the vegetarian festival street procession with devotees started at the Jor Su Kong Naka Chinese Shrine in Wichit.

Male and female devotees were seen stabbing their faces with various items such as sharp rods and swords to show that they had relieved the burden of unlucky things and bad karma from people who were waiting for them along the road.

5. A father and his son have survived after a frightening fire gutted their SUV during the vegetarian street procession in Phuket Old Town.
