Tourists Thrilled by Large Elephant Herd in Khao Yais Scenic Spots

Prachinburi —

On November 2nd, 2024, Mr. Chaiya Huayhongthong, the Head of Khao Yai National Park, reported a high influx of tourists visiting the park over the holiday weekend, entering through the Nern Hom and Khao Yai Shrine gates in Prachinburi and Nakhon Ratchasima provinces.

Drawn by the cool weather, visitors were treated to rare sights of wild elephants. In a memorable experience for many, a herd of over 25 elephants, including playful calves, was spotted grazing and crossing the road at Thung Kwai.
Another group was seen near Sai Sorn Reservoir, close to the park office, leaving tourists delighted.

The park introduced new safety measures for viewing wild elephants, requiring visitors and staff to stay at least 50 meters away from the animals to avoid disturbance and ensure safety. Park rangers are enforcing these guidelines strictly to maintain a safe environment for both tourists and wildlife.
