Bangkok —
At 9:00 PM on November 7th, 2024, Sutthisan police raided a two-story house in Bangkok’s Din Daeng district, uncovering an illegal gambling operation with 20 individuals actively playing cards.
The group consisted of 8 men and 12 women, with some claiming they lacked identification documents—a claim that officers are investigating.
Ms. Thitiporn Somsap, 27, identified herself as the homeowner, and police seized evidence, including six decks of cards, betting markers, tables, and 12,200 baht in cash. One elderly female gambler, around 70 years old, reportedly suffered a fainting episode and was assisted by rescue services at the scene.
Officials reported the gambling den to be a “mobile gambling ring” that frequently changes locations, with this being its first day in Din Daeng. Noticing unusual activity in the area earlier, police conducted surveillance, confirming the presence of the operation before initiating the raid.
Thitiporn, the homeowner, is set to face charges for hosting illegal gambling, while the other individuals will be charged with participation in unauthorized gambling.
All suspects were taken to Sutthisan police station for further processing, with additional inquiries underway to identify the primary operators of the mobile gambling ring.
