On November 17th, 2024, at the 73rd Miss Universe pageant in Mexico, Thailand’s representative, Suchata “Opal” Chuangsri, claimed the third runner-up title, earning nationwide pride despite narrowly missing the crown.
The new Miss Universe 2024 is Victoria Kjær Theilvig from Denmark, followed by first runner-up Nigeria, second runner-up Mexico, and fourth runner-up Venezuela.
Though Opal missed becoming Thailand’s third Miss Universe, her outstanding performance—from the national costume round to her eloquent answers in the final Q&A—cemented her legacy as a worthy representative.
