Nakhon Ratchasima —
In the early hours of November 24th, 2024, Phimai police in Nakhon Ratchasima received a report about a foreign man found sleeping in the middle of the road on Phimai-Chumphon Road.
Officers arrived at the scene and discovered a 70-year-old foreign man (his identity was withheld by the police) appearing intoxicated and lying in the street. He was shirtless, wearing only shorts, and had a head wound with blood oozing out. The police provided first aid immediately.
Mr. Chutiwat Kaskong, the village head of Rangkayai, shared that the foreign man frequently lies on the road when drunk. On some occasions, he becomes agitated and walks around with a sharp object near a local school, scaring both teachers and students.
This behavior had reportedly been ongoing for some time, prompting the police to intervene multiple times, according to Chutiwat. The man’s Thai wife eventually filed for divorce due to his uncontrollable behavior, remarked Chutiwat.
According to the police, once the man regained his senses, he explained that his head injury occurred from slipping while drunk. Police escorted him to the Phimai police station to calm down and warned him against causing further disturbances.
