Ang Thong —

At 6:30 PM on November 28th, 2024, Thai national media reported a fire broke out on an empty blue bus along the inbound Asia Highway in Ang Thong. No injuries were reported.

According to Thai national media, thick smoke was seen billowing from the vehicle when authorities arrived. The driver and passersby initially used fire extinguishers to contain the flames, while emergency responders spent 20 minutes extinguishing the fire and breaking interior windows to release smoke.

The bus driver, publicly identified only as Narongsri, 39, stated he was driving the empty bus from Chiang Mai to Chonburi to pick up cadets for transport back to Nakhon Nayok.

He reportedly noticed smoke and flames coming from the rear air-conditioning unit, which spread to the seats. Quick action by other motorists and firefighters prevented the blaze from escalating.
