National —

Bangkok has been named the world’s most visited city for 2024, with 32.4 million international tourists, according to a December 4 report by Euromonitor International.

The Thai capital saw a growth of over 30% from 2023, cementing its position as a global tourism leader. The city’s vibrant culture, affordable living costs, and attractive visa policies—such as a 60-day visa exemption for 93 countries and an expanded visa-on-arrival program—contributed to its success.

Trailing Bangkok were Istanbul with 23 million visitors and London with 21.7 million.

Completing the top 10 cities were Hong Kong (20.5 million), Mecca (19.3 million), Antalya (19.3 million), Dubai (18.2 million), Macau (18 million), Paris (17.4 million), and Kuala Lumpur (16.5 million).
