On December 12th, 2024, Mr. Phan Phaniangwet, the Managing Director of Thai President Foods PLC, producer of Mama instant noodles, revealed improved sales figures for December, aligning with an expected annual growth of 7-8%.
The increase is driven by export sales and the premium “Mama OK” line, which now holds a 10% market share.
To meet rising demand, the company will install two new production machines by March 2025, with an investment of 600 million baht, instead of building a new factory in the Eastern Economic Corridor due to high land costs.
Internationally, Mama is expanding operations in Hungary and Cambodia. In Hungary, a 1.6-1.7 billion baht project will double production by mid-2025, supporting the European market. In Cambodia, a 400-500 million baht facility will replace the current city-based factory, where Mama already holds a 75% market share.
Future plans include entering the South Korean market aggressively in 2025. New flavors, including green curry and pad kra pao, will hit convenience stores with 18,000 outlets and a planned “Mama Station” collaboration with Thai restaurants in Seoul.
While China remains under observation due to its competitive market, Mama’s tom yum flavor has already gained popularity among Chinese consumers.
