Bangkok —

At 4:00 PM on December 20th, 2024, Thai authorities arrested six Chinese nationals involved in an international call center fraud operation in a luxury condominium on Ratchadapisek Road, Huai Khwang, Bangkok.

The suspects, publicly identified as Mr. Fengran Wen, Mr. Zhang Jun, Mr. Li Yunling, Mr. Pang Ze, Mr. Yang Qun, and Mr. Yao Fan (the gang leader), were found with large quantities of equipment, including 286 Sim Boxes, 208,652 SIM cards, 636 mobile phones, and other digital devices used for fraud.

They were operating from six rooms, using SIM boxes to allegedly make fraudulent calls. Authorities believe the group had connections with similar operations in Laos and Cambodia.

The suspects reportedly entered Thailand on tourist visas and rented the condo for about two months. The gang used AI to quickly create fake social media accounts to scam individuals, generating income by tricking people into clicking false advertisements.

The suspects face charges related to illegal telecommunication activities, falsifying data, and working without the necessary permits. Thai authorities are continuing to investigate the case.
