Thai Transport Company Tightens Safety Measures for New Year Traffic Surge

On December 27th, 2024, Mr. Atthawit Rakjamroon, the Acting Managing Director of the Thai Transport Company Limited, announced preparations for the surge of travelers during the 2025 New Year holiday.

The company estimates an average of over 120,000 passengers per day traveling to their hometowns and tourist destinations, utilizing 5,000-6,000 trips, including nearly 1,000 additional buses to accommodate demand.

On December 26th, a total of 118,947 passengers traveled to and from Bangkok on 6,844 trips, with no passengers left stranded. For December 27th and 28th, passengers heading to northern and northeastern routes after 6 PM are advised to board their buses at Krung Thep Aphiwat Central Terminal, Gate 2.

Travelers are urged to check ticket details, including platform numbers, and arrive early to ensure a smooth departure. The last buses will depart from Mo Chit 2 at 11 PM and from Krung Thep Aphiwat at 9:30 PM.

Safety measures, including vehicle checks, drug and alcohol tests for drivers, and adherence to a speed limit of 90 km/h, have been strictly enforced to ensure safe and efficient travel during the holiday season, in line with the Ministry of Transport’s policy.
