On the morning of January 3rd, 2025, a bombing near Ban Kalapho School in Sai Buri District, Pattani, left six traffic police officers injured and disrupted the safety of the school community.
The explosion, occurring at 10:20 AM, also injured a 3-year-old boy, who suffered a wound near his eyebrow while riding on a motorcycle with his guardian.
Classes were immediately suspended as teachers urged parents to pick up their children to ensure their safety amid fears of additional attacks. Witnesses reported that many students were visibly shaken and scared.
Col. Kiattisak Niwong, the spokesperson for the Internal Security Operations Command (ISOC) Region 4, confirmed the incident and called for public vigilance. Residents are encouraged to report suspicious activity to the 1341 hotline, which operates 24/7.
