The Office of the Attorney General recently reviewed the case submitted by the Department of Special Investigation (DSI) and ordered the indictment of The iCON Group Co., Ltd., represented by Warathaphon “Boss Paul” Waratyaworrakul, and 16 others.
However, charges were dropped against Yuranunt “Boss Sam” Pamornmontri, and Pechaya “Boss Min” Wattanamontree, citing insufficient evidence after 84 days in prison.
On January 8th, 2025, senior corrections officials confirmed the Criminal Court’s release of Boss Min and Boss Sam after prosecutors decided not to proceed with charges, including public fraud and alleged pyramid scheme violations.
At 6:30 PM, Pechaya left the Central Women’s Correctional Institution with her family and legal team in a white Alphard vehicle. Prosecutors had disagreed with the DSI’s stance, citing insufficient evidence for the charges.
At 7:20 PM, outside the Bangkok Remand Prison, Yuranunt’s children expressed gratitude to the media for their coverage, stating that further details would remain a private family matter.
Both Min and Sam had continually stressed they were just media presenters hired to promote the company and had no decision making ability in day to day actions or dealt with any funds of customers. Prosecutors appeared to agree after reviewing the charges against each of them. The other suspects, including CEO Boss Paul, remain in custody as of press time.
