Kanchanaburi —

Late at night on January 7th, 2025, police in Sangkhla Buri, Kanchanaburi, were alerted to a fatal collision between two pickup trucks on the Sangkhla Buri-Three Pagodas Pass road.

At the scene, a silver pickup truck with side railings was found damaged along its right side. The driver reportedly fled under the cover of darkness. Ten meters away, a black pickup truck had veered off the road, crashing into a tree and suffering extensive damage.

A Myanmar migrant woman, later publicly identified only as Ms. Manosao, was found dead on the ground, pinned under a wooden log. Two injured male migrants, Mr. Saw Aung and Mr. Zupai Oo, were hospitalized with severe head and hip injuries, according to the police.

According to the police, the survivors revealed they were among 30 Myanmar migrants smuggled into Thailand. After crossing the border and avoiding checkpoints, they boarded two pickup trucks. The vehicles collided en route, prompting both drivers and several migrants to flee into the forest.

One injured migrant later sought police help near the road, leading to his hospitalization. Authorities have identified the trucks’ owners and are seeking court approval for arrest warrants.
