National —
The Thai Meteorological Department issued a weather advisory for January 10th-13th, warning of a strong high-pressure system from China that will bring colder temperatures and strong winds across the country.
Northern and Northeastern regions are expected to see a temperature drop of 5-7°C, while Central, Bangkok, Eastern, and parts of Southern Thailand will experience a decrease of 3-5°C.
Residents are urged to stay warm and be cautious of fire hazards due to dry and windy conditions.
The strengthened northeastern monsoon will bring heavy rain to parts of Southern Thailand, particularly the lower region, with waves in the Gulf of Thailand reaching 2-4 meters, and more than 4 meters during thunderstorms.
Andaman Sea waves will reach 1-2 meters, rising to 2-3 meters farther from the shore and exceeding 3 meters during storms.
Small boats are advised to stay ashore, and larger vessels should proceed with caution. Further updates can be found at the Thai Meteorological Department’s website: http://www.tmd.go.th.
