Former Suphan Buri Councilor and Family Perish in Devastating Fire

Suphan Buri —

On January 11th, 2025, a devastating fire broke out at a three-story commercial building in Suphan Buri Municipality, owned by Phusit Rungronchaiporn, a candidate for District 1 Provincial Councilor and former councilor.

The fire claimed the lives of Phusit, 52, his wife Kanokwan, son Teerawat, 26, and daughter Warasiri, 24. All were found deceased at the scene, with authorities now investigating the exact cause of the fire.

Udom Prongfa, a mayoral candidate for Suphan Buri Provincial Administrative Organization, arrived at the scene to console Poonsak Rungronchaiporn, Phusit’s father, who was in shock and deeply grieving.

Udom tearfully shared that he had dinner with Phusit just the night before and expressed disbelief at the loss of his close colleague, describing him as a kind, humble, and well-loved public servant.

Phusit was a former District 1 councilor known for his approachable demeanor and dedication to his community. He was preparing to run again in this year’s elections. The tragedy marks a significant loss for Suphan Buri’s political landscape, according to the local media.
