On January 22nd, 2025, Lt. Gen. Boonsin Phadklang, the Commander of the Second Army Region, announced the seizure of 480 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine worth over 500 million baht in Pak Chom District, Loei.
The operation followed a surveillance mission on January 21st by the 21st Ranger Task Force. Officials observed a vehicle stop in the area and three men loading black sacks into it.
Upon intervention, the suspects reportedly fled into a nearby forest, leaving behind 12 black sacks containing crystal meth.
Lt. Gen. Boonsin reaffirmed the army’s commitment to combating drug trafficking and thanked all personnel for their dedication in safeguarding communities and borders. The confiscated drugs were handed over to Pak Chom Police Station for further investigation.
