At 2:30 PM on January 24th, 2025, National Police Chief Pol. Gen. Thatchai Pitanilabut revealed the crackdown on Fiwfans, an online platform allegedly linked to human trafficking.
Thai authorities rescued two girls aged 16 and 17, uncovering an alleged criminal network that operated for over four years with a turnover exceeding 3 billion baht. Investigations revealed that 46,000 women, including allegedly minors as young as 15, were involved in the platform’s illegal operations.
Five suspects, including one alleged recruiter and four website administrators, were arrested. The admins, leveraging advanced IT expertise, had developed methods to conceal their identities, complicating law enforcement efforts.
Members reportedly paid 150 baht through an online payment system for site access, while recruiters and “modeling agents” paid to advertise individuals under their care.
The investigation began in 2023, leading to prior arrests and a conviction for one individual carrying a 16-year, 4-month sentence. Recent operations targeted six locations in Bangkok and nearby areas, seizing assets worth over 40 million baht.
Police are pursuing further leads, including locations repurposed for illicit activities and potential accomplices.
