The Thai Meteorological Department has issued a weather forecast for January 26th-28th, 2025, predicting a cold front from China to affect northern and central Thailand, including Bangkok and surrounding areas. The high-pressure system will cause temperatures to drop, with strong winds.
In the Northeast, temperatures are expected to decrease by 3-5°C, while the North, Central region, and Bangkok will see a drop of 2-4°C.
The Northeasterly monsoon over the Gulf of Thailand and the South will strengthen, bringing increased rainfall and heavy showers in some areas.
The forecast also predicts stronger waves in both the Gulf of Thailand and the Andaman Sea. The lower Gulf of Thailand will see waves up to 2-3 meters, with higher waves in areas experiencing thunderstorms.
The upper Gulf of Thailand is expected to have waves around 2 meters, while the Andaman Sea will have waves up to 1-2 meters, with higher waves in stormy areas.
The department also provided an air quality update for Bangkok, noting that from January 25th to February 1st, air circulation will be weak, and ongoing surface inversion will limit the spread of air pollutants.
