Nine People, Including Chinese Tourists, Injured after Tour Bus Crash in Karon

Karon, Phuket – On Saturday afternoon, February 1st, a tour bus carrying passengers, including foreign Chinese tourists, veered off a main road in Karon, plunging down a hill. The accident was reported at approximately 1:00 P.M., prompting an immediate response from emergency services.

Upon arrival, rescue teams discovered a breach in the guardrail and located the tour bus several meters below the roadway. The vehicle was severely damaged from the impact of the fall.

The accident left nine people injured, five men and four women, among them the bus driver and several Chinese tourists. Emergency medical services swiftly transported the injured to nearby hospitals for treatment. The extent of the injuries varied, but all victims received prompt medical attention.

According to reports from the scene, the bus was traveling from Kata beach to Patong when it lost control on a curve, leading to the descent.

The Karon police, under the leadership of Pol Col Khunnadet Na Nongkhai, have confirmed the incident and are currently investigating the cause of the crash. Early findings suggest that the driver might have lost control due to the road’s curves and possibly due to brake failure or excessive speed, but these details are still under investigation.
