Thailand, February 8th, 2025 – Thai PM Paetongtarn Shinawatra discussed efforts to combat call center gangs during her recent visit to China. She stated that Chinese President Xi Jinping praised Thailand’s decisive actions and expressed full support for the crackdown.
China agreed to intensify its efforts on this global issue, with both nations forming a joint task force to coordinate operations.
Regarding Myanmar-based scam centers, Paetongtarn said authorities will assess the impact of cutting power to five locations and continue prioritizing Thai citizens’ safety.
In response to reports of protests and a boycott of Thai products in Myanmar, she stated that each country must protect its own people, and further discussions will take place at the government level.
