Over 230 Illegal Migrants Arrested in Samut Sakhon During Major Crime Crackdown

Samut Sakhon, February 21st, 2025, – Thai immigration police and related agencies announced the results of a crackdown on illegal immigration and crime in Samut Sakhon. 

From February 18th to 21st, authorities arrested 234 individuals for various offenses, including illegal entry, overstaying visas, and involvement in criminal activities.

Among the cases, 164 foreign nationals were caught for illegal entry, 50 for failing to report their residence, and others for serious crimes, including drug offenses, illegal gambling, firearm possession, and two murders. 

According to the police, one case involved a fatal brawl between two intoxicated migrants, while another saw a foreign suspect kill a Thai woman. Authorities also busted a gang involved in motorcycle theft and drug trafficking.

Police emphasized a zero-tolerance policy on illegal kratom juice sales and gatherings, stating that all such activities are strictly prohibited. Additional patrols and proactive inspections will target areas with high migrant populations to ensure compliance with the law. 

Officials urged the public to report any suspicious activities to help maintain safety and order in the province.
