Thai Police Crack Down on Illegal E-Cigarette Sales Near Schools

Thailand, February 24th, 2025 – Royal Thai Police spokesperson Pol. Lt. Gen. Achayon Kraithong announced intensified measures against illegal e-cigarette sales, particularly near schools. This follows reports of unauthorized vape shops operating in multiple areas.

National Police Chief Pol. Gen. Kitrat Phanphet ordered all units to strictly enforce the ban, focusing on high-risk groups such as students and youths.

Authorities will target illicit storage and sales locations, including those near schools and religious sites, ensuring no illegal distribution occurs.

The crackdown extends to border areas and airports, where law enforcement will work with customs officials to prevent illegal imports. Police units are also instructed to coordinate with relevant agencies to conduct inspections and raids, remarked Pol. Lt. Gen. Achayon.

Additionally, officers are warned against any involvement in illegal e-cigarette networks. Those found neglecting their duties or benefiting from the trade will face strict disciplinary and legal action.
