Tour Bus Overturns in Prachinburi, 18 People Dead, Over 30 Injured

Prachinburi, February 26th, 2025 – A devastating bus crash in Prachinburi’s Nadi district left 18 people dead and more than 30 injured.

The accident occurred on a steep downhill curve of Pu Thon Mountain Road, a notorious accident-prone area. Authorities closed the road as rescue teams worked to extract trapped passengers.

The bus, carrying 47 passengers and two drivers, was part of a three-vehicle tour group from Bueng Kan, heading to Rayong for a study trip. It reportedly lost control due to brake failure, overturning and tearing its roof apart.

Several passengers were crushed under the wreckage, and emergency responders had to pull out survivors with serious injuries, including fractures, head wounds, and chest trauma.

Victims were rushed to Na Di Hospital, Kabin Buri Hospital, and a local health center. Witnesses reported seeing the bus swerving before crashing into roadside barriers, which were knocked down over a 100-meter stretch.

Investigators suspect the crash resulted from a failure to stop at a mandatory brake checkpoint, a common issue on this hazardous route, which has seen multiple fatal accidents in the past. Authorities are now reviewing safety measures to prevent further tragedies.

TPN Media will release further details as they are released.
