Thai Police Capture Infamous Singaporean Hacker, Seizing Millions in Assets

Bangkok, February 27th, 2025 – Thai police arrested a suspect identified only as Mr. Chia, 39, a Singaporean hacker known as “Desorden GhostR”, who is infamous for allegedly launching cyberattacks across multiple countries and selling stolen data on dark web marketplaces.

The suspect was charged with unauthorized access to protected computer systems, attempted extortion, and illegal entry into Thailand. Authorities seized laptops, mobile phones, storage devices, luxury cars, and branded bags worth over 10 million baht from his residence.

The arrest followed a complaint to police from a company that discovered its customer data had been leaked on social media. Thai and Singaporean cybercrime units launched a joint investigation, linking Chia to over 70 cyberattacks worldwide since 2020.

He allegedly targeted corporations, financial institutions, and government databases, demanding ransoms and selling breached information.

On February 26th, authorities raided his location in Bangkok with a search warrant and discovered clear evidence of his hacking activities, including posts advertising stolen data on dark web forums.

Reports from cybersecurity firm Group-IB revealed that at least 20 cyberattacks in Thailand and 50 overseas incidents matched his tactics.

He remains in Thai custody as of press time with Singaporean and Thai authorities working together on the next steps for legal processing for Chia.
