Thailand Officially Enters Summer as Rising Temperatures Signal Seasonal Shift

Thailand, February 28th, 2025 – the Thai Meteorological Department officially declared the start of summer, marking the end of the winter season.

Director-General Sukanyanee Yawinyan signed the announcement, citing a significant rise in maximum temperatures across the country and a shift in wind patterns as key indicators of the transition.

The department explained that the northeastern monsoon, which had been dominant during the winter months, has now been replaced by southeasterly and southerly winds, bringing warmer and more humid conditions.

While most of the country will experience rising heat, the northern and northeastern regions may continue to see cool mornings for a short period.

According to meteorologists, Thailand’s summer season is expected to last until mid-May, bringing higher temperatures nationwide. Authorities are advising the public to stay hydrated and prepare for increasingly hot weather.
