Illegal White Lion and Liger Found in Songkhla Mansion

Songkhla, March 8th, 2025 — Wildlife officials from the Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation (DNP) raided a luxury home in Mueang district, Songkhla, and seized a female white lion, a male liger (a lion-tiger hybrid), and two large elephant tusks.

The raid followed complaints that the homeowner was illegally keeping exotic animals without proper permits. Officials confirmed that the animals were kept in secure enclosures within the property, which was well-maintained.

The two large elephant tusks were reportedly found displayed inside the house. The owner, publicly identified only as Mr. Gomet, was not present at the time of the raid.

All seized items were taken as evidence. Authorities plan to summon Gomet to face charges for illegal possession of protected wildlife and ivory under Thailand’s wildlife protection laws.
