Thailand, March 17th, 2025 — the Thai Meteorological Department issued a weather warning forecasting unstable weather across upper Thailand and heavy rain in the South from March 17th to 20th.

Upper Thailand will experience summer storms, including thunderstorms, strong winds, hail, and lightning, especially on March 17th. Temperatures are expected to drop by 3-5°C in the Northeast and 2-4°C in other regions due to a strong high-pressure system from China.

Eastern and southeastern winds will strengthen over the Gulf of Thailand, the South, and the Andaman Sea, bringing increased rainfall and heavy downpours in some areas. Waves in the lower Gulf of Thailand are expected to reach 2-3 meters, rising above 3 meters in stormy areas. The upper Gulf and the Andaman Sea will have waves of 1-2 meters, reaching over 2 meters during storms.

Residents in affected areas are advised to stay indoors during storms, secure agricultural crops, and prepare for sudden weather changes. Small boats in the lower Gulf and the Andaman Sea should remain ashore during this period.
