Thai Police Seize 20 Million Meth Pills, 700 kg of Ice in Major Operation

Nakhon Sawan, March 21st, 2025 — Thai PM Paetongtarn Shinawatra visited the Phayuha Khiri checkpoint in Nakhon Sawan to review the results of recent drug suppression operations in the area and neighboring provinces. 

Pol. Lt-Gen. Samran Nualma, the assistant commissioner-general, reported that in the past week, authorities seized drugs in seven major cases, including 20,080,000 methamphetamine pills, 700 kilograms of crystal meth (ice), and 199 kilograms of ketamine. 

Police also arrested 20 suspects and seized 14 vehicles used in drug trafficking.

PM Paetongtarn stated that the crackdown has been ongoing since October 2024, with increased focus on dismantling drug networks. She praised the integrated efforts of law enforcement and related agencies, emphasizing that the arrests included both small-scale dealers and key figures in the drug trade. 

Authorities are also working with international partners to track down suspects linked to overseas operations. Paetongtarn reiterated the government’s commitment to intensifying drug suppression efforts nationwide.
