The Thai Prime Minister has inaugurated the new Thailand Investment and Expat Services Center (TIESC), a comprehensive investment service hub, to streamline investment, visa, and work permit processes in one location.
On March 31st, Prime Minister Ms. Paetongtarn Shinawatra presided over the opening ceremony of the TIESC, located on the 6th and 7th floors of the One Bangkok project on Rama 4 Road in Bangkok. The event was attended by high-ranking officials from both public and private sectors, ambassadors, and representatives from foreign chambers of commerce.
According to Ms. Paetongtarn, TIESC serves as a hub for foreign investors, which offers comprehensive advice and information for foreign investors seeking to invest in Thailand or setting up businesses. It also incorporates the one stop service center for visa and work permit.
Mr. Narit Therdsateerasuk, Secretary-General of the Board of Investment (BOI), noted that the old center, located at Chamchuri Square Building, Bangkok, has experienced an increase in the number of investors and foreigners seeking services, which averaged over 400-500 people per day.
Moreover, the government’s new measures to attract foreign talent, such as the Long-term Resident Visa (LTR Visa) and Smart Visa for startups, have caused a massive increase of service users. Therefore, the BOI consolidated the services of both centers and established the TIESC to meet the increasing demand. He believed that this new center will be a pivotal platform for integrating public and private sectors to support business success in Thailand.
