Thailand, April 1st, 2025 — Deputy Government Spokesperson Anukool Pruksanusak announced that the Cabinet has approved a toll exemption on four key highways and expressways during the Songkran holiday.
The waiver will be in effect from 12:01 AM on April 11th to midnight on April 17th, aiming to ease traffic congestion as millions travel home during the long holiday from April 12th–16th.
The toll-free routes include:
- Motorway No. 7 (Bangkok–Ban Chang) – including key junctions at Bang Wua, Chonburi, Laem Chabang Port, Pattaya, and Ban Nong Prue.
- Motorway No. 9 (Bangkok Outer Ring Road) – covering Bang Pa-in to Bang Phli, as well as Phra Pradaeng to Bang Khae and Bang Khun Thian Interchange.
- Burapha Withi Expressway
- Kanchanaphisek Expressway (Bang Phli–Suksawat section)
The measure is intended to reduce travel costs, speed up journeys, and help lower air pollution caused by heavy traffic.
