Pattaya Tops Songkran Travel Picks for Thai Tourists According to Agoda

Pattaya has reclaimed its spot as the top Songkran destination for Thai travelers, while international visitors rank it second after Bangkok, according to Agoda.

Agoda reports that Pattaya is once again the top choice for Thai travelers celebrating Songkran, based on hotel searches on the platform. For international visitors, Pattaya is the second most popular destination after Bangkok for the Thai New Year water festival. Meanwhile, Tokyo remains the top overseas destination for Thai tourists during Songkran.

Pattaya’s popularity is boosted by its extended celebrations beyond April 13rd-15th, with the Wan Lai festival around April 18th-19th attracting big crowds. Hua Hin and Bangkok remain the second and third most popular domestic destinations, while Chonburi joins the top rankings, possibly due to the excitement around Moo Deng, a baby hippo that has captured the hearts of Thai travelers.
