Bus Collides with Truck in Pathum Thani, Two People Dead, 25 Injured

Pathum Thani, at 8:30 AM on April 6th, 2025 — A serious crash occurred between a passenger bus and a six-wheeled truck carrying a small backhoe on Taling Chan–Suphan Buri Road in Lat Lum Kaeo District, Pathum Thani.

The bus was severely damaged, with the driver found dead inside. Twenty-two passengers sustained minor injuries, and three were moderately injured. Another victim later died at Lat Lum Kaeo Hospital, bringing the death toll to two.
The truck, found 200 meters away, had heavy front and side damage. The six-wheeled truck driver, Mr. Rakchart, was unhurt and told police he had parked in the right lane to unload the backhoe when the bus crashed into the rear of his vehicle, veered off course, and landed on the roadside.

One passenger, 66-year-old Ms. Wanna from Bangkok, said she and her group were heading to a meditation center in Ayutthaya when the crash happened. “I was asleep and woke up as the bus swerved off the road. Many of us were hurt,” she recalled.
Emergency teams arrived shortly after to help them out of the wreckage. The cause of the accident remains under investigation.

Emergency responders transported the injured to nearby hospitals and used rescue tools to retrieve the deceased driver’s body. The remains will be sent to the Justice Ministry’s forensic unit before being released to the family for religious rites.
