Thailand, April 9th, 2025 — Kerati Kijmanawat, President of Airports of Thailand (AOT), announced full preparations at Don Mueang Airport (DMK) ahead of the Songkran holiday travel rush.
From April 11th–17th, the airport expects 4,391 flights—up 3.1% from last year—and over 701,000 passengers, averaging more than 100,000 per day.
April 11th is forecasted to be the peak travel day. Passengers are urged to arrive at least 2–3 hours early to avoid missing flights during high-traffic hours. DMK is offering free parking from April 12th–16th and 24-hour shuttle service to terminals.
To boost safety and convenience, the airport has deployed additional staff, stepped up vehicle and driver inspections, installed real-time tracking systems (RTPTS), and expanded services including biometric verification, self-check-in kiosks, and automated baggage drop-off.
The airport also launched the “SAWASDEE by AOT” app and coordinated with public transit services including the Red Line train, BMTA buses, interprovincial coaches, EV taxis, and Grab.
DMK is continuing its Phase 3 infrastructure expansion to handle 40 million passengers annually under its “Fast and Hassle-Free Airport” strategy, aiming to become a regional aviation hub.
