Three Colombian Theft Suspects Nabbed in Nong Khai While Attempting to Flee to Laos

Nong Khai, April 7th, 2025 — Nong Khai immigration officers arrested three Colombian men who had entered Thailand illegally and were wanted for allegedly burglarizing luxury homes in Pathum Thani.

The suspects, who were under arrest warrants issued by the Pathum Thani Provincial Court, were believed to be attempting to flee with stolen goods through natural border routes to Laos.

Officers tracked them down as they rode in a tuk tuk from the Nong Khai bus terminal toward the Tha Bo District. The trio matched the descriptions of the suspects.
They were intercepted while stopping for water at a roadside shop. Officers identified themselves and checked the men’s passports, confirming their identities against the arrest warrants.

Records showed they had previously exited Thailand legally on March 20th, 2025, but had re-entered illegally via a natural route.

A search of their belongings uncovered several valuable items, which they could not explain. Through an interpreter, the men reportedly confessed to crossing the border unlawfully and entering the country’s interior before heading to Nong Khai to flee.

They now face charges of illegal entry in addition to theft and have been handed over to investigators for legal proceedings.
