Maha Songkran Festival 2025 Kicks Off with Cultural Splendor in Bangkok

Thailand, April 11th, 2025 — Large crowds gathered at Sanam Luang in Bangkok for the opening day of the Maha Songkran World Water Festival 2025, hosted by the Tourism Authority of Thailand.

Running daily from 3 PM to 11:30 PM until April 15th, the event features vibrant cultural zones and water-based fun.

Festival highlights include a giant “Songkran Giant” photo spot with views of the Grand Palace, regional Thai cultural zones with workshops, illuminated fountains, a free water-play area, and stages showcasing traditional performances.

Visitors can also enjoy Thai-style amusement games, local delicacies from all five regions, and ceremonial Buddha water blessings.

The event will also feature eight grand Songkran parades on April 12th–13th along Ratchadamnoen Avenue, showcasing the unique traditions and colorful heritage of Thailand’s regions.
