BANGKOK, Thailand – Starting May 1, 2025, all international tourists entering Thailand by air, land, or sea must complete the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) before arrival. This new requirement replaces the paper-based TM6 form, aiming to streamline immigration processes and enhance security.
Travelers are required to submit the TDAC online via the official portal (https://tdac.immigration.go.th) within 72 hours before arriving. The form collects essential details such as passport information, accommodation address, and travel plans. Upon submission, visitors will receive a confirmation, which must be presented—digitally or printed—at immigration checkpoints.
The TDAC is mandatory for all non-Thai nationals, except those transiting without passing immigration or using a Border Pass. This includes people on long term visas like retirement or work, DTV, family, etc. Failure to comply may result in delays or additional screening at entry points, and especially as the program is new could lead to major delays. To avoid last-minute issues, tourists are urged to complete the free form as soon as travel plans are confirmed.
Thailand’s Immigration Bureau has launched awareness campaigns in English, Chinese, Korean, Russian, and Japanese to inform travelers. For assistance, designated help points will be available at entry points, but completing the TDAC in advance is strongly recommended for a smooth arrival.
