Hua Hin, April 18th, 2025 — Police in Hua Hin, Prachuap Khiri Khan, addressed a disturbing incident involving a tourist from Mauritius, an island nation in the Indian Ocean.
The victim, Mr. Peryagh (surname withheld), was targeted with a raw egg while boarding a Grab car in front of Hua Hin Railway Station on the evening of April 17th. He and his wife had just arrived by train and were heading to their hotel.
While approaching the vehicle, an egg was thrown by an unknown individual, splattering his clothes. The shaken tourist later shared his experience in the “Life in Huahin” Facebook group to warn others, sparking a wave of concern over the city’s image as a tourist destination.
Following a review of CCTV footage and related complaints, police connected the attack to two earlier incidents occurring between April 12th–17th.
Two female suspects were arrested: a motorcycle taxi driver and a minor. Both confessed, stating they were frustrated by declining income and blamed ride-hailing apps for taking customers. They claimed they did not intend to harm tourists or tarnish Hua Hin’s reputation.
Authorities are proceeding with legal action and stressed that such behavior will not be tolerated.
