Thailand, April 18th, 2025 — Anukool Pruksanusak, Deputy Government Spokesman, announced that the Maha Songkran World Water Festival 2025 was a major success, drawing more than 1.1 million visitors to Sanam Luang in Bangkok between April 11th–15th. Of these, 107,189 were international tourists, highlighting global interest in Thai cultural events.
The festival, aimed at promoting Thailand’s cultural soft power, also generated over 4 billion baht in economic value—1.58 billion from direct tourism income and 2.5 billion from indirect impact. Tax revenue is expected to reach 678 million baht.
Public satisfaction reached 97.46%, with 94.54% of businesses expressing positive feedback. Online engagement was high, with nearly 85% learning about the event through digital platforms.
The event reflected strong collaboration between public and private sectors, and according to the Thai Chamber of Commerce, it’s just the beginning. The private sector is confident Thai tourism will continue to grow in 2025, with expanded opportunities, local income distribution, and improved service standards driving sustainable national development.
