Thailand Welcomes Over 11 Million Tourists So Far in 2025, Generating Over 540 Billion Baht

Thailand, April 25th, 2025 — Thailand welcomed 11,272,379 international tourists from January 1st to April 20th, 2025, marking a 0.52% increase compared to the same period last year. The tourism sector generated 540.7 billion baht in revenue, according to Deputy Government Spokesperson Sasikarn Wattanachun.

The top five source countries were China (1.52 million), Malaysia (1.40 million), Russia (835,385), India (677,793), and South Korea (549,982).

Tourist arrivals dropped during April 14th–20th, following the end of the Songkran festival, with 533,955 visitors entering Thailand—down 19.85% from the previous week. The daily average stood at around 76,280 visitors.

However, numbers are expected to rise again next week due to expanded summer flight schedules, visa-free policies, the lifting of TM6 form requirements, and promotional events under the “Amazing Thailand Grand Tourism and Sports Year 2025.”

The government thanked Thai citizens for their role in maintaining a positive image and reaffirmed its commitment to supporting tourism as a key driver of sustainable economic growth.
