An earthquake measuring 3.0 on the Richter scale struck Sai Hra in Chawang District, at 5:31 A.M. on May 7, 2025. The tremor, originating from a depth of 1 kilometer, was detected at coordinates 8.448N, 99.56E, approximately 82 kilometers northeast of Krabi City.

Residents in Sai Hra and Na Wae Subdistricts reported feeling the tremors, while locals in surrounding areas such as Kapiet, Mai Riang, and Huai Prik heard loud rumbling sounds. At Somdet Phra Yuparaj Chawang Hospital and nearby residential buildings, noticeable shaking prompted staff to evacuate occupants as a precaution.

Authorities are currently assessing potential damages. The Nakhon Si Thammarat Provincial Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Office has urged residents to stay alert for possible aftershocks. Local emergency response teams and municipal offices have been instructed to monitor the situation closely and communicate updates to the public.
