PATTAYA, Thailand – A disturbing case has gripped Pattaya as authorities investigate the disappearance of a 43-year-old woman, Methinee Julamantana, also known as May, who vanished over 20 days ago. The case has taken a grim turn with the discovery of a human skull in Chachoengsao, prompting fears it may be connected to the missing woman. Police are now probing all angles to uncover the truth behind her mysterious disappearance.
According to a post on a popular Facebook page, Methinee’s relatives reported her missing to Pattaya City Police Station. She was last seen in Soi Buakhao, a bustling nightlife area in Pattaya, and last contacted on May 5th, 2025. Prior to her disappearance, Methinee reportedly had issues with her foreign boyfriend, raising concerns among her family. Relatives are urging anyone with information to come forward, hoping she is still safe.

On May 28th, 2025, reporters visited a bar in Soi Buakhao, Central Pattaya, where Methinee was known to frequent. There, they spoke with Ms. Nee (pseudonym), a 44-year-old acquaintance of Methinee. Nee revealed that Methinee often visited the bar with a 42-year-old foreign man named Petru, whose nationality is unclear, but may be from Beius, Romania. The pair were regulars, often playing pool together, and Nee became close with both.
Nee shared that Methinee worked at another bar in Soi Buakhao, about 500 meters away, where she met Petru. Their relationship was tumultuous, with frequent arguments observed at the bar. Nee recalled Petru approaching her after Methinee’s disappearance, pleading for help to resolve their issues, saying, “I love this woman so much. Does she have another man? I want her back.” Methinee had confided in Nee that Petru was allegedly unfaithful, often pursuing other women, which led to repeated conflicts.
Further details emerged from a conversation on May 6th, 2025, when Methinee contacted Nee, expressing interest in working at her var. The next day, Methinee made a distressing call, saying, “Help me, I can’t take it anymore. I can’t stay here. Can I come stay with you?” The call lasted about a minute, after which Methinee became unreachable, with messages going unanswered and her LINE account seemingly blocked.

Reporters also visited the bar where Methinee initially worked, speaking with Mr. Noi (pseudonym), a 29-year-old bar manager who hired her. Noi confirmed that Methinee had worked there for just over a month before meeting Petru. Their relationship was marred by constant disputes, primarily due to Petru’s alleged infidelity. Despite warnings from the bar to avoid him, Methinee continued the relationship until both abruptly stopped coming to the bar. Noi expressed shock at her disappearance and hopes she is ok.
Local vendors near Methinee’s former workplace echoed similar sentiments, describing her as friendly but troubled by her relationship with Petru. They were stunned by her disappearance and hope for her safe return.
A chilling audio clip provided further insight. Methinee sent a voice message to her cousin, Mr. Mit Rai Phuttha, 34, expressing distrust in Petru. She mentioned that he had served 15 years in prison in Romania and that she could no longer tolerate his behavior.

Colonel Anek Sarathongyoo, Chief of Pattaya City Police Station, stated that investigators are exploring all leads to locate Methinee. The discovery of a human skull in Chachoengsao has raised concerns, but authorities are awaiting forensic confirmation to determine if it belongs to her. “We are investigating every dimension of this case,” Colonel Anek said, urging patience as police work to uncover the truth. Police are also searching for Petru to interview him but cautioned that he wasn’t officially a suspect at this time and simply someone they wanted to talk with.
As the investigation continues, Methinee’s family and friends anxiously await answers, hoping for her safe return while fearing the worst in this unfolding mystery.
