Bangkok, July 3rd, 2025 – At 9:40 AM, Mr. Natthapong Ruengpanyawut, leader of the People’s Party and the opposition in parliament, convened a meeting with leaders of opposition parties to discuss their team strategy. The meeting included key figures such as Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul of the Bhumjaithai Party, Khunying Sudarat Keyuraphan of the Thai Sang Thai Party, Mr. Chakart Phatthakitviboon, deputy leader of the Palang Pracharath Party, and Mr. Kanwee Suebsaeng, secretary-general of the Fair Party.
In his opening remarks, Mr. Natthapong said the opposition’s commitment was to working together while respecting each party’s distinct positions. “Today, we aim to identify common ground to address the current political situation,” he said, adding that the opposition would avoid interfering with each other’s core stances. The focus, he noted, is to drive a unified agenda to hold the government accountable.
Mr. Anutin, speaking on behalf of Bhumjaithai, expressed enthusiasm about joining the opposition coalition for the first time, alongside the People’s Party, Thai Sang Thai, Palang Pracharath, and Fair Party. “We all know each other well,” he said, describing a warm and productive morning discussion with Mr. Natthapong. He affirmed Bhumjaithai’s commitment to fulfilling its role as an opposition party, vowing to work closely with other coalition members to scrutinize the government effectively in parliament.
The meeting marks a big step in strengthening the opposition’s unity, with Bhumjaithai’s inclusion seen as a boost to their collective resolve.
