Cambodia Sends Urgent Letter to UN Security Council Asking for Emergency Meeting After Armed Conflict With Thailand

Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet, son of Hun Sen, has asked the international community to help end the armed border conflict and has sent a letter to the UN Security Council accusing Thailand of being the aggressive party and demanding an immediate halt of hostilities, along with a call for an urgent and immediate emergency UN meeting. Thailand strongly denies being the aggressive party and states Cambodia started the hostilities this morning.

Meanwhile, the Thai Foreign Minister is in New York City and visiting UN headquarters in person.
