Thai National Police Chief Visits Injured Officers and Soldiers in Border Clashes, Expresses Gratitude for Royal Support

On July 27, 2025, at 09:30 AM, Police General Kittirat Phanphet, the National Police Chief of Thailand, visited Ubon Ratchathani and Sisaket provinces to offer support to police officers and soldiers injured in recent clashes along the Thai-Cambodian border while defending national sovereignty. He also met with medical personnel and expressed profound gratitude for His Royal Majesty the King’s concern and royal assistance extended to the personnel involved.

The Police Chief visited injured police officers and soldiers receiving treatment at Sappasit Prasong Hospital in Ubon Ratchathani and injured Border Patrol Police officers at Sisaket Hospital. During the visits, he provided financial aid to support medical activities and treatment, while commending the soldiers’ sacrifices in protecting national sovereignty. He wished them a swift recovery to resume their honorable duties for the nation.

Later, the Police Chief and his delegation held a meeting to assess the situation at the Sisaket Provincial Police headquarters. The meeting was attended by Police Major General Phitsanu Watthu, Commander of Sisaket Provincial Police, along with commanders from Buriram, Surin, and Ubon Ratchathani provinces. They discussed operational challenges, offered encouragement, and affirmed full support for coordination with military forces.

The Police Chief instructed provincial police in all areas to implement the “Rear Area Protection Plan,” ensuring the safety of homes and properties of citizens relocated to shelters. He spoke about proactive intelligence gathering, setting up checkpoints, and preventing any actions that could undermine national security or cause unrest. He also called for heightened investigations to prevent conflicts or physical altercations between citizens of the two nations.

For Border Patrol Police on the frontline, the National Police Office will direct the Logistics Department to provide urgent operational support as needed.

Police General Kittirat expressed his gratitude and encouragement to all officers for their sacrifices in maintaining public order and safety. He wished them safety and success in their missions for the nation.
