PATTAYA, Thailand – The Thai cabinet has greenlit a 2 billion baht (approximately $59 million USD) budget to host the world-renowned electronic dance music festival Tomorrowland in Thailand for five years, with the coastal city of Pattaya selected as the prime location. The decision, formally announced on August 27th, 2025, is expected to generate at least 12 billion baht (approximately $354 million USD) in visitor spending, boosting Thailand’s tourism-driven economy.
Tomorrowland, a Belgian festival celebrated for its immersive production and top-tier electronic music acts, attracts hundreds of thousands of attendees globally each year. The approval marks a big step in Thailand’s bid to position itself as a hub for international music festivals, capitalizing on Pattaya’s nightlife and established tourism infrastructure. The city, located in Chonburi Province along the Gulf of Thailand, is a popular destination known for its beaches, entertainment districts, and proximity to Bangkok, approximately 150 kilometers away.

The five-year plan aims to draw both domestic and international tourists, with projections estimating a substantial economic impact through spending on accommodations, dining, transportation, and local businesses. Tourism is a cornerstone of Thailand’s economy, contributing roughly 12-15% to the nation’s GDP, and Pattaya’s selection reflects its capacity to handle large-scale events, having previously hosted festivals like Rolling Loud Thailand and Maya Music Festival.
“The decision to bring Tomorrowland to Pattaya shows Thailand’s ambition to elevate its global tourism profile,” said a spokesperson for the Ministry of Tourism and Sports. “We expect this event to not only boost the local economy but also showcase Pattaya’s unique appeal to a younger, international audience.”

Official Details regarding the exact dates, venue within Pattaya, and lineup for the festival remain undisclosed although unofficially announced proposals is the Wisdom Valley area and December of 2026. The budget allocation will cover logistics, infrastructure, security, and promotional efforts to ensure the event meets Tomorrowland’s global standards.
The announcement has sparked excitement among locals and business owners in Pattaya, who anticipate a surge in visitors.

Thailand’s hosting of Tomorrowland aligns with the government’s broader strategy to diversify tourism offerings and recover from the economic challenges posed by the global pandemic. With an expected return on investment six times the allocated budget, the festival is poised to cement Pattaya’s status as a dynamic destination for music and culture enthusiasts worldwide.
