Phuket –
Authorities in Phuket are urgently searching for a foreign man who vanished after a young Thai woman was found dead under suspicious circumstances in a luxury hotel room in the Cherng Talay area of Thalang.
The Cherng Talay Police told the Phuket Express that the body of the woman, believed to be between 26 and 28 years old, was discovered around noon on September 15th by hotel staff after she failed to check out. She had reportedly checked in the previous day with a foreign male companion whose identity and nationality remain unknown.
Police from Cherng Talay Station, along with forensic officers and rescue personnel from the Kusoldharm Foundation, responded to the scene. The woman was found lying naked on her left side beneath a shelving unit in the room. Her left arm was extended above her head. Nearby, investigators recovered a black shoulder bag, a mobile phone, a TV remote, a bottle of water, and a red plastic cup.
Initial forensic examination revealed no visible injuries or signs of assault. Authorities have yet to confirm the woman’s identity, and her body has been sent to Vachira Phuket Hospital for a full autopsy, including toxicology screening to determine whether drugs or other substances may have contributed to her death.
According to hotel records and staff testimony, the woman and the foreign man checked in together on September 14. When they failed to return the key or contact staff by the noon checkout deadline the following day, housekeeping used a spare key to enter the room and discovered the woman’s body. The man was nowhere to be found and is believed to have left the premises earlier that morning.
Police are now reviewing CCTV footage to trace the man’s movements and determine whether he played any role in the woman’s death. Investigators have not ruled out foul play but are awaiting autopsy results before drawing conclusions.
