Bangkok, October 1st, 2025 —
A 23-year-old British national was arrested at a hotel in downtown Bangkok while allegedly preparing to traffic over nine kilograms of crystal methamphetamine out of Thailand, according to Metropolitan Police Division 5.
The arrest was ordered by Pol. Maj. Gen. Witawat Chinkam, Commander of Metropolitan Police Division 5, along with senior officers Pol. Col. Siranawit Intra and Pol. Col. Yingyot Suwannano from Lumpini Police Station. Investigators from the division’s crime suppression unit apprehended the suspect in a fourth-floor room of a hotel located on Sukhumvit Soi 11, following a tip-off from an informant.
The informant had alerted police to a foreign man matching the suspect’s description who was reportedly storing narcotics in a large pink wheeled suitcase. Surveillance footage confirmed the man’s presence at the hotel, leading officers to conduct a search of his room with hotel staff present.
Inside the suitcase, police discovered 10 branded plastic bags containing crystal methamphetamine, weighing a total of 9,152.3 grams. The suspect admitted the drugs were in his possession and claimed he had received them from another British man known only as “Snoopy.” He said he was paid 20,000 baht to hold the narcotics “temporarily” before delivering them to a customer.
Authorities have charged the suspect with possession of a Category 1 narcotic (methamphetamine) with intent to distribute, in violation of Thai drug laws. Police say the offense constitutes trafficking and poses a serious threat to public safety.
Investigations are ongoing to identify and locate the individual known as “Snoopy,” and to determine the full scope of the trafficking network.
